WHO IS ROBERT?
He's fat. He's a rat. You hold him.
Robert's story started back in 2018, when an Instagram user posted a simple photo of themselves holding their pet hamster. Something about that chubby, confused little face clicked — and the image slowly found a home as a niche meme called Fat Rat Being Grabbed. It stayed underground for years, loved by a small circle, but never quite broke through.
That changed in 2022. @alwayshasbean brought Robert into the third dimension — modeling the hamster in 3D and uploading him to Sketchfab. From there, he exploded. Players imported him into Garry's Mod, Counter-Strike, GTA and more, turning him into one of the most recognisable rodents in internet culture.
The community ran with it. Countless memes, edits, and tributes later, Robert's legacy is bigger than ever — and here you'll find some of the absolute best ones.
